CAT S (C) Write Off

Overview:

'Cat S' vehicles have sustained structural damage to components like the chassis. They can be repaired and returned to the road after a thorough inspection and typically an MOT test. This category was previously known as 'Cat C'.

Will the standard panel accept a 'Cat S write off?

You do not need to refer this to the applicable underwriter if a valid MOT and VOSA inspection has been done since.

If a valid MOT and VOSA has not been done, please refer.

CAT S was formally known as CAT C prior to changing in 2017.
