Overview:
Motor Breakdown policy ensures that policyholders have access to a 24/7 – 365 day emergency helpline in case of breakdowns. It is provided by Call Assist. Breakdown provides cover for:
Eligibility:
- Private cars and attached towed caravans or trailers.
- Non-commercial use (i.e., not for hire, reward, or courier services).
- UK-registered vehicles primarily stored at the policyholder's address.
- Restrictions on vehicle size and passenger capacity: weight up to 350kg, length up to 8m, height up to 3.4m, width up to 2.5m, and a maximum of 9 occupants, including the driver.
Coverage Highlights:

- Coverage up to £3,500 total.
- Geographical coverage: UK regions, including EU (specific conditions apply).
- Applicable for private cars aged up to 10 years.
Detailed Coverage:
1) Local :
- Roadside Assistance: In cases where a vehicle becomes immobilised or unroadworthy due to an insured event, beyond 1 mile radius from the home, we offer roadside callout and an hour of labour. If needed, transportation for the insured individual(s) and vehicle to the closest repairer (up to a 10-mile round trip radius) is included.
- Message Relay: We'll convey up to two phone messages to inform the policyholder's family, friends, or business associates about unexpected travel disruptions.
- Medical Transfer & Assistance: Users can avail the 24-hour emergency helpline for:
- Arranging an emergency medical transfer for a hospitalised insured individual traveling in the UK with the insured vehicle. (Associated costs borne by the policyholder).
- Addressing any motor issues in the UK not under this policy's coverage. We facilitate repairer callouts, but the policyholder covers the charges, including parts.
2) National Including Doorstep:
- All services mentioned under UK Local.
- Vehicle Recovery/Onward Transportation.
- Doorstep Assistance: Should a vehicle become unroadworthy within 1 mile radius from home, we provide roadside callout, an hour of labour, and if necessary, transport the vehicle and insured persons to the nearest repairer (10-mile round trip limit).
- Cover for anywhere in the UK
Exclusions:
- Claims exceeding £3,500 in an insurance period.
- Vehicles with an engine larger than 4000cc or power output above 300bhp.
- American and Grey imports, kit cars.
