This should reflect the date the customer has taken ownership of the vehicle. It should match what is stated on the V5C.
There might be occasions where the customer has not actually purchased the vehicle, such as Lease. So on that occasion you would select the date the customer leased the vehicle from. This can be found on the customers lease agreement.
