Excess Protection Cover

Overview:

Motor Excess Protection helps customers avoid paying for their excess in case of an accident. It reimburses the excess amount for claims related to damage, fire, theft, and attempted theft. This coverage allows customers to choose a higher excess and potentially reduce their motor insurance premium.

Coverage Highlights:

Key Aspects:

  • Should a claim be made on the primary motor insurance, the Motor Excess Protection will address the excess amount up to the specified indemnity level.
  • Covers claims originating from damage, fire, theft, and malicious acts.
  • If an accident isn't the policyholder's fault and the third party hasn't settled the excess within 6 months, we'll refund the policyholder.
  • Multiple claims are allowed, capped at the overall limit of the policy.

Indemnity Levels:

  • We offer varied policy excess caps to match different customer requirements: Β£250, Β£500, Β£1,000, and Β£2,000.

Types of Vehicles Included:

  • Commercial Vehicles, provided they don't surpass 44 metric tonnes.
  • Personal-use private cars that accommodate up to 7 passengers.
  • Business cars, also accommodating up to 7 passengers, usable for both personal and business purposes.
  • Motorcycles.

Policy Exceptions:

  • Situations where your main Motor Insurance doesn't come into play.
  • Instances where your Motor Insurance denies the claim.
  • Claims tied to the vehicle's participation in competitive events, tests, races, speed trials, or any off-road event, regardless of venue and official permissions.
  • Claims related to glass servicing or substitution.
  • Claims stemming from vehicle breakdown or fueling errors.
