Introduction
This guide aims to clarify who can be insured when using the Altissima platform. It outlines conditions for various scenarios, including those related to the main driver, company vehicles, age-specific policies, and leased vehicles.
Main Driver Scenarios
1. Main Driver as Both Registered Keeper and Owner
- Is Keeper Legal Owner: Yes
2. Company Vehicle Insured Under a Personal Name
- This scenario is possible if the main policyholder is the Sole Director of the company, implying they have an 'insurable interest'.
- Is Keeper Legal Owner: No
- Registered Keeper: Proposer
- Vehicle Owner: Company
- Note: If multiple directors are involved, refer the case to the underwriter.
3. Leased Vehicles
To insure a leased vehicle, determine whose name is on the lease:
- Spouse: This is generally accepted by most insurers.
- Company: Only the director can insure the vehicle in their personal name. Some cases may require underwriter assessment.
- Other: Usually declined due to lack of 'insurable interest'. For exceptions, consult a higher authority.
- Is Keeper Legal Owner: No
- Registered Keeper: Leased
- Vehicle Owner: Choose the relevant option based on the lease agreement.
4. Exception: Spouse-Owned Vehicles
- This applies when the spouse owns the vehicle but is not the main Policy Holder (PH).
- Is Keeper Legal Owner: No
- Registered Keeper: Proposer
- Vehicle Owner: Spouse
Any Driver Policies
- Some customers may inquire about 'any driver' policies.
Eligibility Requirements for Any Driver Policies
- Hold a driving license for at least two years
- Have no claims or convictions
- Be above the age limit of the selected policy
Exception for Ineligible Drivers:
- These drivers can still be added as named drivers, provided the correct information is supplied.
Company Policies
- At least one company director must be listed as a Named Driver (ND), even if itβs a 25/30 policy.
- Important: No claims bonus cannot be transferred from personal policies to company policies.
