What is it?
The Confirm Parking Location tool is the best way to validate your customers parking location. This tool will display a google map view of the declared parking address and postcode. This will allow you to determine if they are being truthful with their declared information.
Why would a parking location be incorrect?
Parking location is an easy way for customers to attain cheaper insurance, this is because it is generally seen as less of a risk to park a vehicle on private property than on the road.
How do I use it?
To use the ‘Parking Location’ tool, simply head over to ‘Validation Tools’.
The tool will look like the below:

All you need to do is click the down arrow – you’ll then be greeted with this screen:

Here you are provided with an up to date birds eye view of the declared parking location. Use common sense here – You’ll know if an address looks big enough to keep vehicles on it’s driveway.
Likewise, if a policyholder states they insure another vehicle, and their driveway looks too small to hold multiple vehicles, quiz your customer!
If you do wish to make changes to the current parking location, this is doable via the editable fields below the google maps image:

Here you are able to change both the overnight postcode and location. When updating the postcode, the Google maps result will also change, allowing you to view the new address :

You’ll also be able to click ‘Get Price’ to see an up to date price difference between the two locations:

In this instance, there is no change.
Updating details here will automatically update the quotation, so ensure you are changing the details back to the original details if you don’t wish to apply this change.
Tips and tricks:
Parking location is not a simple rating criteria, and can often impact the quote in surprising ways. For example, in some instances it will reduce the premium if a vehicle is parked on the road, and may lead to a premium increase if a driveway or garage is selected. Ensure you check each parking option, and refer to underwriters if needed!
